UK Bank Account
Bank account is one of the necessities of life for everyone in the UK. And in this regard MRC international students are no exception. Students will need a UK bank account to manage their personal finance and also in most cases to pay for their day-to-day needs, travelling and entertainment. International students are advised to open a bank account with one of the national or UK-based international banks before they start their course at the college.
To open a new account in the UK, the banks require the following documents.
- Proof of ID that shows date of birth – usually a valid passport is sufficient for this purpose.
- College letter confirming that the applicant is a student – stating the course name and duration.
- Proof of address in the UK.
- It is advisable to carry original passbook of saving account of home country.
For international students their physical presence in the UK is also necessary before they can apply to open a bank account. Once the student has enrolled with MRC, the college will issue the bank letter.
