Northumbria tops subject satisfaction rating
Student satisfaction, high profile sporting success and international collaboration are three things which characterise the School of Psychology and Sports Science at Northumbria.
The School is going from strength to strength. Its Psychology students recently came top in the National Student Survey (NSS) for overall satisfaction, with 95% being satisfied with the course and facilities. This is the highest of the 144 institutions offering psychology programmes!
On the sports front, double gold Olympian and Northumbria graduate Victoria Pendleton, fresh from her triumph in the Beijing Summer Olympic Games, has recently been back to Northumbria to accept an Honorary Degree. Meanwhile current Sports Science student, Wei Yuan from China, is one step closer to his ultimate career goal of working for a professional football club. When he’s not playing for the Northumbria Men’s 1st Team or studying, he can be found helping coach the Newcastle United Women’s Football Team.
The School’s staff have been just as active as the students, having recently developed partnerships with institutions in China, Korea and Hong Kong, not to mention the launch of two new programmes in Sport Coaching and International Sport management.
